In honor of the remastering of Shenmue 2 I decided to do a guide for the game. This is Part 1, and covers the start of the game through the end of the first day.

*About photos - There's little "gifts" you can look at by taking photos of certain characters. If I randomly zoom in on someone it means it's a photo needed for that. The vast majority I do during scenes though, so keep an eye out for that. Just press R1 whether it is during a scene or not.

You don't ever have to pay the guy at Come Over Guest House. Just always answer don't pay, you'll get a lecture but saves money.

Trophies earned in Part 1:

Baggage Claim - Story related

Money For Nothing - Give to the musicians at the beginning of the game.

Big Spender - Have less than $40 when your bag is stolen.

Slippery Like an Eel - Catch Wong during the QTE by not failing.

Good Samaritan - Help the man straighten the sign. This seemed to change by 1 between the few times I went by. Not sure if you get the trophy if you get it when he lets you try again, as I got it on the first time on my first pass.

*Challenger - if you win at the arm wrestling as you pass by, or any other time.

*Strongarm - This is for 5 wins. I don't do it in the guide, it's a free time activity. There's several spaced around the pier area, each one stars at a certain difficulty which you can gauge by the cost to try. $10 is easiest and so on in increments of 20. You don't have to win all 5 from the same person, but I did a few from the starting guy you pass by and last two from a guy in the alley between 2 shops right next to where you buy the lighters. Do this whenever you want.
