This is Part 5 of a walkthrough for the remastered Shenmue 2. It covers from learning about the Chawan sign to losing the fight at Beverly Hills Harbor.

You can mess around with the Chawan mechanic of course, there's even a few optional scenes you can see, so that's your call. Doing so is not included in this guide.

Doing the 4th time airing out the books is optional if you move at full speed through this section, but you won't get the Mantis move if you don't. It's not needed for the 15 moves trophy, there's enough moves without it, so it's up to you. It does provide a good chance to kill the day with some sparring with Jianmin to build up some of your favored moves. To reset him after the spar just run back to the Green Quarter and then return to him.
