It's safe to say that this is a genre defining cutscene. Some people don't appreciate Shenmue, they believe it's too slow and too drawn out, that they don't really feel as though it is a game. However, to me and thousands upon thousands of others it is a true game changer. This game captivated us with it's story of Death, Revenge, Friendship, Adventure and Exploration. To fall in love with Shenmue, is to fall in love with a world not too distant from the one we live in now. This isn't set in Medieval Times, or in an Over-The-Top Farfetched future, it's set in 80's Japan. Sure, it has it's faults, but we can see past them and see the game for what it is, an expensive attempt to capture people's imagination in a revolutionary way...
