Made with a 3-day trial of SONiVOX' "Symphonic Harp" DVI instrument back in 2011 when I still cared about making music and re-mastering Shenmue BGM. Back then, I was completely unaware that the Shenmue Online OST already contained amazing re-masters of most tracks I care about, including this one...

So yeah, this is just a one-shot recording of me playing the piano part of this track, fiddling around with the software, trying to get a good sound and expression out of it. Not great or anything.

A full cover of this track should have been uploaded immediately after Langhuishan.
I remember to have come quite far with it, but then, some progress was wiped away by a software crash and I lost the will to continue. Just like Naoyuki's bike, it will probably be stuck in development hell forever. Sorry, guys.

I hate all this VST and DAW shit anyway. Too many variables, the sound always seems to be not good enough, and suddenly, your PC's processing power becomes an issue! Yeah, sequencing MIDIs for my trusty old Clavinova on the lowest level was aggravating, but at least the sound was consistent, you didn't have infinite choice, and making open-source music felt great.

But it will always sound "like MIDI", and this is not what this project should have been about. The odds of me continuing this project are probably exactly on par with the odds of Shenmue 3 being released.

Or maybe this is just me being jaded with music in general. Thank you, Touhou fandom, for ruining music for me forever.

Maybe I should look into chiptune composition, then.
