5The Full 100% Gameplay Walkthrough Guide for Chapter 1 THE SHADOW OVER LONDON from Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened game:
- You will start the game at Sherlock Holmes' apartment or office where you will walk up to the table in the middle of the room and interact with it. You have to find and examine 3 items on the table: newspaper, leaflet lying on the book, small envelope next to the cup. You will have to rotate the second Item in order to examine it.
- After you finish talking to Watson you will have to head outside. Once you exit outside to Baker Street you will find the dustbin next to where Watson is standing, start search and examine the dirty newspaper, and small cactus needle.
- When you finish with the dustbin, go talk to the boy selling newspapers across the street. Select all dialogue options.
- When the conversation is finished, the screen will show a new question in the Mind Palace. This means that you have collected the required evidence to solve your first puzzle: Who ruined the Strand?
- Enter the Mind Palace and choose the first question and mark 2 tips: book from Barnes, newspaper boy's testimony.
- When you solve the first puzzle in the Mind Palace, the next place of investigation will be the bookshop. Pin the evidence to the game screen and ask passersbys where to find the bookshop. Once you find it, go and enter the bookshop and talk to Mr. Barnes.
- Start observing Mr. Barnes and examine his eyes, right hand, right knee, and his left shoe. After that you choose a profile for him (It is not that important which choice you go with).
- The bookshop owner will hide behind the door after the cutscene. First, examine the dog at the door and the ladder in the corner to the right of the door, then approach the counter. Examine the large painting on the wall, and finally the stack of books on the counter.
- On the bookshop's counter examine: the flyer on the right, and then the thick book with an orange cover.
- Go to the window and investigate: the pot of dried flowers, the pile of books, and then the view behind the window.
- When you find all the evidence in the bookshop, go outside and approach the flower stand. At the flower stand examine: red roses, white roses, and the cactus. When you pick up the cactus pot, examine the spot with the missing needle. Rotate the pot and examine the crack.
- While observing Mrs. Flemming examine: her mouth, the buttons on the neck, the brooch on the left shoulder, and then her shoes.
- Choose any character profile and continue the conversation.
- Select the Provide Evidence option when talking to Mrs. Flemming and check these important notes: Character Portrait: Mr. Barnes, Cactus in a cracked pot, Dead flowers on display.
- After talking to Mrs. Flemming, you will gather all the evidence you need to solve the next puzzle in the Mind Palace: Why is Barnes acting so strangely? Choose the evidence: Mrs. Flemming's opinion of Barnes, Cactus in a cracked pot, Dead flowers on display.
- Return to the bookshop and talk to Barnes through the door. You will receive The Strand newspaper. You can now leave the bookshop.
