We now begin an episodic playthrough of Shining Force II: Ancient Sealing on the Sony PlayStation 4! Despite the title, this game is actually set in-between Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict and Shining Wisdom and is the third and final Shining game on the Sega Genesis. This game plays similarly to the first game along with the Game Gear titles where you can carry up to twelve units per battle. If the main character (in this game's case Bowie) dies then then you lose. However there are two instances where this game is different compared to the first one. First off, the game can now let you promote your force in-between or up to Levels 20 or 40. Doing that doesn't half a unit's stats. Speaking of promotion, there are a handful of secret items that can make certain units promote into special classes (For example: Do you want your Archer become a Sniper? Or wait until you gain the item that can make the Archer a Brass Gunner?). Second (And this is my favorite part). This game doesn't use a chapter system and you can free roam the entire world map.
This is possibly my favorite SEGA game by the time of writing this description (For better or worst). And it's also one of my favorite video games of all time! I enjoy this game alone more than any Sonic game that I played from the gameplay, music and presentation! Please. You all wanted to see me feature this game on my channel! You wishes are granted! As said before, the story of this game is set in-between Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict and Shining Wisdom. A lot has happened since Max defeated Dark Dragon but those events that are set after Shining Force will have to wait. The story of this game begins when a thief named Slade attempts to take the Jewels of Light and Evil. This caught the Devil Army's attention as they lay an attack on the Kingdom of Granseal. Bowie and his friends formed Granseal's own Shining Force as they must face off against the Devil Army!
