With Laurent Mekies now at the helm, Red Bull appear to be undergoing a bit of a resurgence. So much so that Christian Horner texted Martin Brundle during the Italian Grand Prix to congratulate the team on turning the car around. If they can keep it up, then Verstappen could provide some interesting competition to the McLaren drivers of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris over the remaining eight races. While he may not be in the running for the drivers championship, the current reigning champ could still play a large part in the fight between the two contenders. While things are looking good this year though, next season is going to be a brand new challenge for Red Bull, one they are not very hopeful of overcoming. Today, I’ll check out the huge task facing Red Bull with their new engine, and talk about F1’s faltering return to V8 engines, so don’t go anywhere.
