Should Artists Ever Use Generative AI? (Niche Use Case Scenario)
TL:DR: There are USES for generative AI, but using it to outright replace what you can do rather than speed it up or use it for reference, is still morally wrong. Not to mention the type of AI model you use if any, where we need to make sure it's one that generates from non-stolen assets and artwork.
Personally with dysgraphia, there have been many times I wanted to use generative AI to create my artwork for me, although in most cases it fails to do my ideas, it can provide assets and ideas. The only problem is if we lose touch with how we got there to begin with, to become artists, then suddenly six fingers, four arms, and no casted shadows is a normality. Which is a future danger to artwork.
