And my second question: I asked my (maybe) future Boss about what programming languages we would learn and he told me that I would learn C in the beginning and that I would focus on Java and SQL later on. Should I stick to these Languages and become an 'expert' in them or should I learn other languages in my free time?

One VS Multiple Programming Languages:
I will be telling you to pick 1 Programming Language if you want to understand the foundation of programming. I won't advice you learning Multiple Programming Languages because it will make you harder than confuse you in the learning process.
The First Programming Languages to Learn is JavaScript I always say than move on to PHP, Java or C++. So Master One Programming Language or Learn Multiple,
Learning Multiple Languages Simultaneously is a bad idea so stay away from it if you beginner in Programming.
