Ashes of Creation has entered its first "lull" period where the game is a bit stale while we await a major content update. Right now there's a few systems working in unintended ways as well as sins of the past that are making the testing environment not the most fun. This is leading to many people wanting a wipe after these issues are resolved. However Phase 3 starting in May complicates things because that would be a natural breakpoint for a wipe.
