Whew! That title's a mouthful! These issues kinda go hand in hand as it was the phoenix point epic games deal which eventually lead to someone on reddit, particularly the phoenix point subreddit, that first pointed out that epic had a folder with information about the user's steam information in it. Is Epic Collecting our Steam Information? This was eventually recreated on other forums and Dan Vogel of Epic Games came in to offer an explanation.

Should we be Worried about X-COM Successor Phoenix Point? I'm really hoping that this has a minimal effect on the game itself and that we can enjoy the X-COM spiritual successor with minimal interruption from Epic Games and its aggressive storefront. The reddit AMA with Julian Gollop was bad enough as it is and I personally don't want anything getting in the way of Snapshot Games creating the best game they can.
