I've played PAYDAY 2 from pre-launch all the way up to Crimefest 2 and even after that mess I still hopped on from time to time. What really got me abuot PD2 was how they did their pricing model and the way the DLC was presented. I really liked how you were allowed to play along with your friends so long as whoever hosted owned the DLC. It was even enough for me to (mostly) look the other way in regards to how many of them they were. Unfortunately, shortsighted greed stoppped payday 2 from revolutionizing games. Maybe if it wasn't for the hype train, the black market update, the stupid walking dead game that ended up being DOA when it finally came out, and one too many egregious DLCs asking too much for too little in return we'd have had even more Payday by now and more game studios would adopt the model of a low price of entry plus little DLCs to fund their operations instead of Free to Play or what I'm starting to call "McDonald's Editions." Those stupid $120 pre-order packages that always come with a cheap, stupid toy.
