In this battle between Hojo and Date, I force the advantage of the defender away from the defender to the attacker as I force the defender to attack and lose their far superior and favourable terrain by getting superior ranged supremacy and attack me, the field attacker instead.
This was as much the battle between the two militant classes as it was a battle of strategy. The enemy fielded near complete samurai while I fielded only low tier ashigaru. The game's balance of dictated that I would lose or had a lower than equal chance of winning. After all the katana samurai is very dangerous enemy to face indeed. You only had to apply yourself better than the game thinks you could.
