SimTown was a game created by Maxis in 1995 for Windows and Macintosh computers. It is, to be brief, a "kids version" of SimCity. You probably already know that Maxis went on to create the popular The Sims series with Electronic Arts. Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SimTown

The Music Animation Machine is a program that animates MIDI files in many different ways, the primary way being the "piano roll" method you see here in this video. This visualization is different than what MIDIjam does. MIDIjam visualizes each individual instrument and plays that instrument's notes with real-time video and 3D models. (In this video, I demonstrate both the "color by pitch class" and "color by part (MIDI track/channel)". In coloring by pitch class, each of twelve notes in the semitone chromatic scale are assigned a color. For example, depending on what you tell the program is the tonic (bottom note), the first (bottom) note will be blue, four half steps up is red, and three half steps past that is purple. This concludes technical mumbo-jumbo speak.)

ANYWAY, this music you're listening to (and watching) was composed by Joey Edelman specifically for SimTown. Song 1 is followed by Song 2, and then comes Song 3. He didn't give titles to these songs. For some reason, the MIDI driver on my computer performs a certain drum note strangely in the third song. (According to MIDIjam's "MIDIlist" program, it's a gunshot sound effect.)
