RULES:

Defeat Dr. Neo Cortex.

All players start the game with 10 META LIVES

Collecting lives in game has no affect on these 10 meta-lives.

Ghost Rule: If you lose all 10 meta-lives, you are now a Ghost. Ghost players can still finish the race, but they will ALWAYS position below 'alive' players. If all players become Ghosts, the race will end with NO VICTOR.

ALL GEMS HAVE POWERUPS!

SILVER = freeze a single player for 60 seconds, or all other players for 45 seconds OR cure an affliction from a colored gem power-up.
ALSO gain +1 meta-life

BLUE = Gain +3 meta-lives

RED = force one other player to LOSE a meta-life by killing themself (in-game)

GREEN = choose a player. That player is poisoned. They can't use the slide function. They can cure their poison by collecting a silver gem. If they slide by mistake, pause for 3 seconds and then continue.

YELLOW = choose a player. That player cannot collect an aku aku mask anymore. If that player picks up a mask by mistake, they must lose it to the first enemy they come across.
ALSO the collector gains a 1 second time reduction to their final time X the number of wumpa fruit. E.g. 42 Wumpa Fruit = -42seconds to their final time.

PURPLE = force a player to defeat a boss they've already beaten, after they finish the level they are in.
ALSO the collector's in-game life count is deducted from their time / lifecount x 10 = X seconds deduction from your final time.
E.G 12 Lives = -120 seconds deducted from their final time.

CONFUSED? GOOD. NOW YOU KNOW WHY THESE IDIOTS INSTANTLY REGRETTED THEIR DECISION TO PLAY THIS GAME.
