Conventional wisdom generally says you should attempt the Backwards Man speed glitch while standing still, and immediately after respawning at your placed marker. But this isn't necessarily a strict requirement.

I'm not exactly sure what button inputs I was doing here, but it was either basically just the usual Backwards Man button inputs, or alternatively the button inputs for the Forwards Man speed glitch or Cannonball speed glitch--but without touching the right control stick.
