Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 296. Starting Lakeview Manor
3Last time we purchased the title to Lakeview Manor. Today we're taking a little diversion to visit our new property and begin construction on our new home. Gathering the necessary materials (I have a spreadsheet that breaks down exactly how much of everything we need), we head there to get started.
Today we're just going to be building the initial small house. We don't have quite enough materials to both build and fully furnish the large house, let alone the three additional wings. Now I know that we have over a million gold and could buy all the materials we need a thousand times over, but we're not going to do that for a couple of reasons. First, I'm super stingy and don't like to spend gold unless I have to. Second, I prefer to take a "live off the land" approach to material gathering, only using materials I have looted from my explorations.
But we do have enough to build the small house, completely furnish it, and also build all the external upgrades like the stable and garden. We then take the opportunity to make Rayya the steward of our new house, at which point we can purchase a horse, cow, and chickens, as well as our own carriage driver. As a final step we plant the garden outside so that it will be in bloom for our next visit.
We're not going to make this our new home base just yet. For one, the small house doesn't have enough containers for our needs, and two, I really don't want to deal with the hassle of moving everything out of Breezehome just yet. All that will be for the far future at this point. Next time we'll move on to the last thing we need to take care of before beginning Dark Brotherhood quests.
