Previously, for the Thieves Guild quest Blindsighted, Davilas, Karliah, and Brynjolf began going through Irkngthand. He made it through the first two parts of the complex, the Irkngthand Arcanex and the Irkngthand Grand Cavern. Now, he will finish up this dungeon and try to stop Mercer Frey.

After resuming, Davilas backtracks to a treasure room in the Grand Cavern to see a message that Mercer had left behind. There are also Scrolls of Detect Life, which will be handy coming up.

Davilas continues to the third area of the complex, the Irkngthand Slave Pens. Lots of Falmer groups await in this linear area. Near the start, there is a Thief with an interesting note. Later on, there is a spot with Chaurus.

When he reaches Level 27, Davilas increases his Stamina. Under Lockpicking, he gets the Apprentice Locks perk.

At the end of the Slave Pens, Davilas takes the door to the Irkngthand Sanctuary. Just as he arrives, there is a scene with Mercer Frey. After the scene, Davilas must fight Mercer one-on-one. He can turn invisible, but if you use a Scroll of Detect Life or the Detect Life spell, you can see him. He is also visible on the compass. Unrelenting Force works well on him.

When Mercer is dead, Davilas must search him for the Skeleton Key. He can also get the Left and Right Eyes of the Falmer. When taking the former, he gets the objective "Return the Eye of the Falmer to Delvin".

After getting the Skeleton Key, Davilas must escape Irkngthand Sanctuary. The chamber will fill with water, but this will give Davilas access to a new opening in the southeast of the room.

Davilas, Karliah, and Brynjolf escape to the Bronze Water Cave. If you have a follower, he or she will catch up to you here. Davilas talks to Karliah. She rewards him with the Nightingale Bow. This concludes "Blindsighted".

Karliah also issues Davilas the next quest, "Darkness Returns". She needs him to return the Skeleton Key to its rightful place in the Twilight Sepulcher. Okay, if we must. The dilemma is that the Skeleton Key is an unbreakable lockpick.

Davilas can exit to Skyrim. The Bronze Water Cave is on the shore of a lake just northeast of Irkngthand.

Davilas fast-travels back to the Thieves Guild in Riften. Down in the Ragged Flagon, he talks to Delvin Mallory and gives him the Left Eye of the Falmer. This earns him a tidy sum and concludes the objective "Return the Eye of the Falmer to Delvin".

Afterwards, Davilas heads to his house in Whiterun for some inventory management.

Next time, Davilas will travel to the Twilight Sepulcher for "Darkness Returns".
