Previously, Davilas continued the Civil War quest line on the Imperial side. After "Battle for Whiterun", he did the first part of "Reunification of Skyrim" and helped regain the Pale in "The Battle for Fort Dunstad". Now, he will continue the quest line by helping regain Winterhold Hold.

After resuming, he fast-travels to Driftshade Refuge southeast of Dawnstar and then rides north to the Winterhold Imperial Camp. At the camp, he talks to Legate Rikke. She issues the quest "Rescue from Fort Kastav". She wants Davilas to take Fort Kastav from the Stormcloaks and hopefully rescue some of the Legionnaires being held captive there.

To get to Fort Kastav, Davilas fast-travels to the Forsaken Cave and rides east. When he arrives, he finds a secret entrance to Fort Kastav Prison. He can find the Fort Kastav Prison Key on a table. Then, downstairs, he can free four Imperial Soldiers from the prison.

Afterwards, he goes outside. If he is fast enough, he can wipe out the Stormcloaks before they kill all the rescued Imperial Soldiers.

After the battle, Davilas reports to his friend, Hadvar. This concludes "Rescue from Fort Kastav" and completes the objective to regain Winterhold Hold. Next, Davilas must return to General Tullius.

Davilas fast-travels to Solitude and reports to General Tullius at Castle Dour. The General promotes him to the rank of Legate and rewards him with some armor. Davilas's next objective is to regain the Reach, where Markarth is located. If you have not done "Season Unending" during the main quest, the Imperial objective will be to regain the Rift, instead.

Davilas fast-travels to the Reach Imperial Camp northeast of Markarth. There, he again finds Legate Rikke. She issues the quest "The Battle for Fort Sungard". Fort Sungard is on a cliff overlooking the road between Markarth and Whiterun. Rorikstead is the closest town.

Davilas fast-travels to Gjukar's Monument. He meets with his fellow Imperial Soldiers outside Fort Sungard and then helps take the fort from the Stormcloaks. Defeating all the enemy troops concludes "The Battle for Fort Sungard". This concludes the objective to regain the Reach. The player earns the trophy "War Hero" for capturing either Fort Sungard in the Reach or Fort Greenwall in the Rift.

Davilas fast-travels back to Solitude. He talks to General Tullius in Castle Dour. Finally, the time has come to retake Eastmarch and Windhelm.

To get to the Eastmarch Imperial Camp, Davilas fast-travels to Mzulft southeast of Windhelm and then rides southeast. At Eastmarch Imperial Camp, he talks to Legate Rikke. She issues the quest "The Battle for Fort Amol". Fort Amol is along the river southwest of Windhelm.

To get to Fort Amol, Davilas fast-travels to Lost Knife Hideout. He rides northwest to rendezvous with his fellow Imperial Soldiers outside the fort, and then they move in to take the fort. After enough Stormcloaks have been defeated, "The Battle for Fort Amol" is complete.

To continue regaining Eastmarch, Davilas fast-travels back to the Eastmarch Imperial Camp. He reports to Legate Rikke. She issues the quest "Battle for Windhelm". Finally, it is time to take Windhelm and defeat Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak.

Davilas fast-travels to the Windhelm Stables. Outside the Windhelm city gates, he meets General Tullius and a legion of Imperial Soldiers. After Tullius rouses the soldiers, they enter Windhelm. The Stormcloaks have set up lots of barricades, so Davilas has to make his way through the western section of the city to reach the Palace of the Kings.

As Davilas enters the palace, there is a scene involving Tullius and Ulfric. Afterwards, Davilas must work with Tullius and Rikke to defeat Galmar and Ulfric.

After Ulfric is subdued, Tullius gives Davilas the option to finish Ulfric off. Davilas agrees, and Tullius gives him a nice Daedric Sword of Leeching. Either way, Ulfric's life will end. "Battle for Windhelm" and "Reunification of Skyrim" complete! The player earns the silver trophy "Hero of Skyrim" for capturing Windhelm for the Imperials or Solitude for the Stormcloaks.
