I have a ton of games in my backlog that I've either never played or played very little. So I thought it might be fun to sample semi-random games and upload them so everyone can see how terrible I am at them!

So here we have a game called Slave Zero for the Dreamcast. It was developed by Accolade and published in North America by Infogrames in 1999. First off, I've played through the PC version of this game multiple times and I really enjoyed it. It's just a straight-up action game where you blow up everything in your way. This was my first time playing the Dreamcast version and I must say, it's just a mess. Despite the graphics not being nearly as good as the PC version, the game has a very erratic framerate. I was really surprised since the Dreamcast was a powerful system for the time, but it absolutely struggles to keep up with the engine. The controls are a little odd these days, which is why I tried out a different setting during my play here. There are sound glitches abound and there wasn't any music (unless it's off by default, I didn't check). Yes, the parts of the video where I'm shooting and there's no sound is how the game plays. It's not a bad recording :) If most people played this version, then I can see why this game sort of has a bad reputation. Such a shame, because as I said earlier, I really liked the PC version. I captured this video on a Saturn.
