Hello everybody, SlimKirby here, and welcome to my next Let's Play, a replay of a game I played all the way back in 2009! Safe to say, it's been awhile since I've touched this game on the channel, but it's a game I love and a project I've always wanted to go back to...for a couple of reasons.

As mentioned in the video, not only is the old project a little rough around the edges (in terms of commentary and my general style at the time), but I also did the game in just black and white Game Boy colors. Now, I don't think the black and white looks bad or anything, but this was the first game to really take advantage of the Super Game Boy SNES accessory, which allowed you to play Game Boy games on the SNES with a unique color palette (and a border, which I'll show at the end of the project). Therefore, I felt like if I was going to do this game again, that I should at least showcase that palette just to be a little more different and unique. Unfortunately though, the only way for me to record this novelty did come at a small price of not being able to hear Pauline scream in every level (which is really not that bad of a loss, all things considered, heh), but just let it be known that when playing this game on SNES, Pauline's scream is more detailed and you can actually hear her say the words "Help!" In this LP, she'll just be silent...for whatever reason (my guess is emulation limitation).

But what more to say about this game? It's awesome! What starts as just a simple trek through the arcade game evolves to a much grander adventure in one of the handheld's most intricate and advanced puzzle-platformers. It's impressive how much bigger this game is from its arcade counterpart and it's always been one of my favorites on the system. This game would go on to inspire the Game Boy Advance's Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, which was another reason why I wanted to replay this because that game got a remake on the Switch recently, and I always felt like THIS game deserved the remake potential instead, so I figured I'd show this game some love if Nintendo wasn't going to. Seriously, this game doesn't deserve to get overlooked!

This first video will showcase the entirety of World 0 and World 1, but future worlds will take much longer as the game gets more complicated. I hope you guys enjoy this classic trek through a game that was a big part of my childhood. Also, along the way I'll be collecting all of Pauline's personal items in every stage, so that'll be fun too!
