SlimePark - Speed Playthrough - Slightly Segmented - 5 hours 22 minutes 32 seconds | IWBTG Fangame
The point of this video is to have all my strategies in one place, including my solutions for the first two secret levels. This is not meant to be a normal speedrun, and merely a compilation video done in a fast playthrough.
As such, there are pauses on the timer and occasional game pauses, and there are slowdowns as I look at my own videos to remember what to do (as it was all scattered in multiple places previously) starting from Level 62 onwards.
Additionally, as this was my first full playthrough of the game from start to finish, my split timings were quite off throughout the run, as I hadn't yet built up muscle memory or linking towards changing between splits.
That said, I am pretty happy with the time I obtained in this video considering it was my first time trying to run the game.
The reason this video exists as a compilation of my strategies, is that I cleared SlimePark without using any hints or guides or walkthroughs, using purely my own solutions throughout the game. As a result, it took me 2 or 3 years in order to finally beat this game, and a substantial amount of time.
(This video is mostly a Strats Showcase, mainly so I never truly forget my own solutions if I speedrun to find optimal ones! That, and editing the video to be a walkthrough with my strats for SlimePark v1.09. I'd rather edit it if I have the entire game done in True End%)
The biggest barriers for me were levels 87 and 97 respectively. 87 took me a long break of 2 or more years to be capable of beating, where-as 97 took me 3 weeks to find the solution. Those are the only real standouts towards the end of my grind. That said, Level 62 was a very big problem for me as well back during my first year of playing the game, resulting in me using a very funny solution to beat it!
49 hours 27 minutes 41 seconds, 821 deaths is my final time and death count for base game clear. This does not include myself running the game up to my progress PB every so often, particularly if I took a long break from the game, in order to revitalise my memory for all of the different mechanics.
The one thing I miss from this game, is having bosses inbetween milestones to reinforce your learning in a fun format like what Gaze at the Horizon did. Only having one boss at the end of the game was quite sad for me in that regard. That said the Final Boss is truly awesome, and I wouldn't have wanted that boss any other way.
