1The most basic way to explain this match-up is that Ryu will want to keep Old T.Hawk away with fireballs and general spacing tactics while wittling away his health, while Old T.Hawk will want to get close and attempt to tick-command-grab and poke Ryu until eventually backing him into the corner. In a general sense Ryu has the advantage, but if Old T.Hawk succeeds in pushing Ryu into the corner, his command-grab setup becomes nearly inescapable and the match-up will now be heavily in his favor until the round ends or Ryu manages to somehow escape the corner.
