10 Smart Tips to use your iPhone, iPad and iPod more effectively.

The first tip is called text replacement. Simply speaking, it means keyboard shortcuts. So instead of typing the sentence, which is mostly time consuming, you just type in a few letters and then the whole sentence will pop up.

Tip number 2 is to turn off auto-correction option while typing. I myself find this feature really annoying because it always auto-correct what I don’t want it to correct or auto correct the word that I’m typing way different from what I have in mind. So I think it is a better idea that you turn this auto-correction feature off.

Tip number 3 is make sure that your ‘Predictive word’ feature is enabled. Predictive word feature is much better than Auto-correction because it predicts what word you might be typing by providing you with possible word choices to select, but it does not interfere with your typing, unlike auto-correction. So it is a good idea to make sure that this feature is on. By default, predictive word feature is automatically on.

Tip number 4 is to try to iMessages instead of regular SMS if the person whom you’re texting also uses an iPhone. if you use iMessages, you can send as many MMS or SMS as you like as long as your iPhone is connected to the internet. This would save you a lot of money. iMessages are also fast and convenient. You can see if the person has read your text message or even he or she is typing back to you.

The fifth tip is to clean your iPhone every one or two months to get some storage back. To clean your storage, you need to download an app from Appstore called Magic Cleaner. It’s a free app. Just run this app, it will scan to remove junk files from your iOS system to save you some storage back.

Tip number 6 is to place your Settings app on the dock where you can access it fast and easily, not the homescreen. Settings app is the place for customizations. Whatever configuration you want to change, you always go to settings, so why not make it easily accessible. If you place it on the Homescreen, when you scroll to the next page of your homescreen, you won’t see it. This would waste you some time to scroll back and forth just to go to settings. If you place it on the dock, no matter what pages you scroll to, you can always access fast and easily.

Tip number 7 is to shutdown your iPhone for 30 minutes on a weekly basis. Remember that your iPhone is a like a computer, but a mobile computer. When you leave it runs without stopping, its hardware including the battery life will be shorter. So it is recommended that you turn your iPhone completely off for at least 30 minutes for its system to cool down before using it again. The best time to shut down your iPhone is at night when you sleep so that you and your iPhone can sleep peacefully.

Tip number 8 is also about battery. Once a month drain your iPhone battery to below 20% and then recharge it to so that it will reach its full cycle charge. By doing this, it will make your iPhone battery healthy and prolong the battery life.

Tip number 9 is to lock your notes with sensitive information with a Touch ID. With iOS 11, Apple has allowed us to lock any note with a Touch ID so that no one can access your notes with sensitive information like your emails’ passwords or even bank account information if you’ve decided to store it there. Once it is set, go to your notes app, swipe on a note from the right, click on the lock icon. By doing this, you will lock it. Once you quit the notes app and come back to it again, it will requires you to unlock that note with a Touch ID.

The last tip of the list is to make sure that ‘Rest Finger to Open’ feature is enable. With iPhones that use Home Button to access Homescreen, by default if your iPhone is locked and then you try to access your iPhone homescreen with a finger scan, it still won’t open homescreen automatically. You have to click on the Home Button to access it.
