King K. Rool's importance dates all the way back to the creation of the Country series on the SNES (Super Nintendo) and Super Famicom. He was the major Donkey Kong villain throughout the SNES and N64. He may have dropped off a bit in terms of recency and importance but popularity and demand are still going strong.
King K. Rool can do so much for a move-set. From the use of his crown and the boxing gloves to the various devices he is able to use there is a lot of content to work with to make him playable. Not only that but he will be another heavy user for the roster and, more importantly, another villain.
