After some indev tinkering with my buddy and teammate Marioman2007, I've managed to recreate the gameplay of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (and the SM3DW Captain Toad Adventure levels) in Super Mario Bros. X2. This is a proof of concept for what it will look like.

Notes:
- Like in the actual game, Captain Toad cannot jump. The SMBX2 version also allows him to run at normal running speed, and even pick up items along the way.
- Falling mechanics are made to be similar to that of the ones in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, by setting the player's X-Speed to 0 while they're falling. Please note that the current code may break certain things like horizontal Clear Pipe Cannons.
- Pluck Patches return here in this concept, and they still host items including vegetables as usual.
- There will be short puzzles and usage of Clear Pipes into Screenscrolling Pipes.
- The video has placeholders for Power Stars and Star Coins. They will be changed to a new item and Super Gems, respectively.
