"作者です", or "The Author" also was building a reboot of the mod for the newer Episode 2 engine as "SMOD 2", its latest version being 2.03. While not as fully featured as the older branch yet, it's worth a look.

How To Install.
To launch the mod you will need to have Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode Two to be installed in your Steam with Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer. Right click on Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer, select "Properties". In "BETAS" select "-upcoming". Restart Steam. You will see "SMOD 2 HALF-LIFE: SOURCE" in your Library. Left-click on "PLAY" button. Enjoy.

Note.
Don't forget to change the Steam language to English and restart the Steam. Because it's need to be set up, otherwise it will not work.
