"作者です", or "The Author" also was building a reboot of the mod for the newer Episode 2 engine as "SMOD 2", its latest version being 2.03. While not as fully featured as the older branch yet, it's worth a look.

This is the fixed version of SMOD 2 made by myself. To launch the mod you need to have been installed in Steam Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Half-Life 2: Episode Two. Don't forget to install the Source SDK Base 2007. Then quit Steam. Extract the "smod2" folder from "smod2.rar" archive to your "sourcemods" directory. Restart Steam. You will see "SMOD 2.03" in your Library. Press "PLAY" and enjoy.
