Smooth Criminal Tabata MICHAEL JACKSON #michaeljackson
"Smooth Criminal" is a song by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, the seventh single from his album Bad. It was released on October 21, 1988 by Epic Records. The composition is designed in the funk genre, in the text the musician tells about the murder of a girl named Annie. The single peaked at number 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and topped the national charts in Belgium and the Netherlands.
In early 1989, the musical film Moonwalk starring Jackson was released. The storyline of the tape was based on the episode "Smooth Criminal", directed by Colin Chilvers. This part of the film was conceived as a tribute to the musical "Theater Van" starring Jackson's idol Fred Astaire, so the image of the musician largely repeats the image of Tony Hunter, the main character of the musical in the episode "The Girl Hunt".
Two edited short versions of "Smooth Criminal" became the music videos for the song. In the video, the singer demonstrated a technique that has become his hallmark - "anti-gravity tilt". For the video, Jackson won a People's Choice Award and a BRIT Award for Best Music Video.
