Just me and Joe playing through Axelay on the Super Nintendo. This was my first time seeing or playing this one. This was a channel redeem by the Twitch user Lyri_Tor. At first glance I thought this was an ugly game, and Joe kept getting game overs on stage one over and over, so I thought to myself, yay another impossible shootemup that is going to drive me batshit crazy for days lol. Turns out that I just didn't like stage 1, or 3 very much, 5 was okay, each odd number was vertical, which I usually love, but all they did here was use fancy mode 7 to show off, and in my opinion ignore the gameplay. And stages 2, 4 and 6 were horizontal, which I usually don't like, but ended up enjoying quite a bit in this one. Managed to beat the game on my first try thankfully, and that ending stage was pretty nuts, so many different boss battles in a row, every time you think you've won, another one gets tossed at you lol. As far as shootemups go this one isn't bad, I'd give it a 7, for SNES it's good, compared to Turbografx, or Genesis it's pretty mediocre.
