So yeah, here's our latest DLC character. The love-obsessed bride turned metal singer, Elphelt made her debut back in Xrd. Originally created by the Universal Will in a plot to resurrect Justice and restart the world from scratch, Elphelt broke free of her programming and instead, her heart filled with love, and she became an instrumental part of Xrd's story. Helping to turn Ramlethal to the side of good, the climax of Revelator was all about saving her from the Universal Will's clutches. Now unburdened, Elphelt tried making it as a maid at Ky Kiske's mansion but felt she wasn't good enough at the job and set out to find something she IS good at....and that's apparently being the singer in a metal band, Speothos Venaticus!
In Xrd, Elphelt made use of a stance system to lock opponents down with pressure from her shotgun, or would snipe them from far away with her rifle. Toss in the occasional grenade and she ended up being one of the best characters in the game and became rather infamous. Sounds like another certain gun-toting character we know...
In Strive, Elphelt trades out the stance system with a rekka system instead, Chain Lollipop. Once the move is started, every other main attack button is a distnint follow-up she can mix and match as she likes. This is on top of her rifle firing off homing shots, and she's still got those grenades...even a super that can toss them onto the opponent and send them flying!
Overall, Elphelt's a lot of fun in this game! A VERY easy character to pick up and play, on top of having a great design and theme...I think she's going to be VERY popular as time goes on. Hard to tell if she'll become the terror she was in Xrd, but for now, let's start picking up all the little extras of life.
Mario Wonder will resume tomorrow, so stay tuned!
