Also, sorry about the abrupt cutoff. I accidentally stopped recording it a tad too early. Needless to say, I got an S rank on this run.
I think the most interesting part about this battle is that the other two rival battles take place in games that have already been visited in the main game, such as shadow on ARK, which is from SA2, which also houses the stage City Escape, and Silver on that one level from Sonic '06, which also houses Crisis City. With Metal Sonic, though, you fight him on stardust speedway, which is from Sonic CD, even though you never play an actual stage from Sonic CD. They could have just as easily thrown him into the Sonic 2 Death Egg or Sky Sanctuary Zone, seeing how those stages have both of his previous incarnations, Silver Sonic and Mecha Sonic, on them.
