1A welcome twist to the shmup, but it doesn't really hold my attention gameplay wise. It just feels like they put more into the graphics and not nearly enough into the gameplay. What's kind of a bummer about this is that in 1997, the shmup genre was extremely mature. It's entirely possible that I'm missing something core about the gameplay that would improve my experience, but there's something cut-and-paste or "game maker engine" about this that I can't quite explain.
