Solitaire Suite 2000 for Windows
Courtyard

A variation of Busy Aces which increases the difficulty by autofilling empty tableau spaces the waste and stock.

Cards:

Two standard decks. Since colors don't matter, politaire substitutes a four-color deck of cards..

Goal:

Move all cards to the foundation.

Foundation:

Eight foundation piles.
Any ace may be moved to any empty pile in the foundation.

A card may be added onto a foundation pile if it is one higher than the old top card of the pile and of the same suit. Thus, the only card that could be played on a 4♥ would be a 5♥. No pile may contain more than 13 cards.

Once on the foundation, cards may not be moved back off..

Tableau:

Twelve tableau piles of one card each, splayed downward. All cards are dealt face up.
A card may be added onto a tableau pile if it is one lower than the old top card of the pile and of the same suit. Thus, the only card that could be played on a 6♣ would be a 5♣.

Cards on the tableau that are not under another card are available for play onto the foundation or any other tableau pile.

Empty spaces in the tableau are automatically filled with a card from the waste. If the waste is empty, then it is filled with a card from the stock. If the stock is empty, then empty spaces in the tableau may be filled by any card.

Only one card may moved at a time, never sequences.

Stock and Waste:

The remaining cards form the stock and there is one waste pile.
Each time you click on the stock, one card will be dealt from the stock to the waste. Only one pass through the stock is permitted.

The top card of the waste is available for play to the tableau or the foundation.

Common Variations:

If the foundations start with two instead of aces, then this is called "Square" instead.
Some references say that ordered sequences can be moved in this game, but I think the game is very playable without needing to allow that.
