I'm trying to figure out how to solve the issues you see here:
- ship thrusters and heat source from pipes show weird mirror-like effects.
- windows show strange reflections (floor, walls, ceiling) depending on the angle you look at them.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Everywhere I look people say this is an issue with AMD video cards. I've tried disabling Catalyst AI (editing Profile.xml file, or using RadeonPro to create a custom profile for Doom3.exe, or even editing regedit itself), but it didn't work. I've also tried renaming the executable (Doom3.exe to Doom_3.exe), but it didn't work either because the executable needs Steam to work (which looks for that exact name file). I even rolled back to an old driver (10.10) to disable Catalyst AI through there, that didn't work either.

I'm running out of ideas. :(

Some background information for the record:
- Core i5 2500K
- 8 GB of RAM
- AMD Radeon HD 6870 (1 GB)
- Doom 3 bought via Steam (it is NOT the BFG-Edition)

Edit: SOLVED!!!
I finally found a solution! Renaming the executable (Doom3.exe) to something else actually DOES work. Thing is, Steam won't let you run the game with its executable renamed even if you double-click the executable directly with Steam closed (it'll re-open Steam, and then try to run Doom3.exe). So I found a workaround to bypass Steam:

1. Make a backup of Doom3.exe (just in case), located in \Steam\SteamApps\common\Doom 3

2. Make a google search and find the old Doom 3 patch v1.3.1, Steam version (non BFG-Edition I mean) is already patched to v1.3.1, so the executable from the patch itself will work. Download the patch from any site.

3. Right-click on the patch and extract its contents to a folder (use winrar or 7zip).

4. Rename the executable from Doom3.exe to something else, like Doom_3.exe for example. (this way, when you run the game, Catalyst AI won't be able to find 'Doom3.exe', so it won't mess up your game).

5. Copy the executable (Doom3.exe) from the patch to \Steam\SteamApps\common\Doom 3

6. Run the game directly from the new executable, you don't even need Steam open. It should get rid of those glitches I show on the video.

Hope it helps, worked for me. :)
