The Gear Puzzle is based off of pictured rooms with the number of stars around the castle, the swords that the knights are holding around the king and the chalices that are on the table with the skeletons dining at. They differ from game to game based on the seed you are in so no number might not be truly the same. Genius move on the developers for this as it makes you explore and play the game!
