"Idea" from Soma Bringer

My first video in five and a half years.... I realized I have quite a lot of sheet music on my computer that I never uploaded. Rather than let it continue gathering virtual dust, I'm moving my site from Blogspot/Blogger to WordPress, where I will be posting new transcriptions over the next several months. I am also touching up the sheet music from my old site and making corrections where possible as I gradually migrate to the new blog. I would like to record videos for everything I post, but uploads will be intermittent as I have to practice the pieces and fit in time to record.

Here's a lovely piano piece by one of my favorite composers, Yasunori Mitsuda. I haven't played Soma Bringer, but I think there is a mostly-complete English fan translation out there somewhere. Idea is one of the characters, but her name is written イデア in Japanese, so it's meant to be pronounced "ee-de-ah" like the Latin or Ancient Greek word. The developers borrowed names or words from a variety of languages for the characters: Orpheus and Adonis (Greek); Welt, Einsatz, and Angst (German); Cadenza and Forte (Italian); etc.
