Disc 1 is finally completed, but not without a cornucopia of reveals, surprises, and depression. By this point, Xenogears has proved to me that its goal is to be the most depressing game of all time, and for the first entry in Takahashi's wild ride, I was completely surprised by that. That's not to say the Xenosaga and Xenoblade games are happy-go-lucky adventures, far from it, but I'm pretty sure none of them ever talked about mental disorders and cannibalism, or if they did, never had them as a focal point.
