The particular question was something to the effect of, I have one terrain paint, asphalt... how to fix?
Since the question appeared in the comments for a video I made explaining PBR materials I am assuming that level in question is PBR

Basically, you create the new terrain textures as you need them. I kept this as simple as possible only showing the bare minimum needed to get a PBR paint to show up. What I think the question was asking however is in a situation where one converted a non PBR level to a PBR level and all the existing paints are not automatically converted too. Leaving one with one paint, or none at all.
Yeah, that will take some work on your part to convert them. Unfortunately from what I can tell its not as simple as moving textures from non pbr levels to non pbr levels where one can use a replace in a text document to change all the /level/smallgrid/ to something like /level/my_new_level in that levels main.materials.json for that particular level. Since I am pretty sure the PBR also writes to a data block when creating a new terrain paint library for a new new pbr level or new converted level. But I believe that is where the next point comes in for those...
There is a Bulk texture directory change option also, but I have only messed with it on one occasion. I am pretty sure that is for textures from level to level that are already both pbr. It would not be effective for converting a non pbr terrain paint texture set to a pbr terrain paint texture set though.
DDS format will not work for PBR terrain paints. Maybe that can save you a lot of headache trying to figure out why your textures are still black/ dark grey. Just PNG's and JPG's will work.
