Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Sonic speed run [30:53]
66This is my speed run of Sonic 3 & Knuckles in 30 minutes and 53 seconds of game time.
I still can't believe it. This run was absolutely incredible from start to finish; some nerves at the end as you might expect, but I had the single best Sonic 3 half I've ever had (at 10:29!), an absolutely perfect Flying Battery, and most amazingly, NO UNINTENTIONAL DEATHS, something I've never done in a run of this category and have no desire to ever attempt to do again.
This, in all likelihood, will be my last speed run of any game, due to the constraints of, well, life, being placed on my time more frequently. I can't commit the hours of practice and grinding to speedrunning that I used to any more. I've had a pretty good run in that time; I've been speedrunning for over a decade now, although nothing of mine was ever on video until 2006. Since then, I'd like to think I did my bit in both expanding speedrunning as a hobby more generally and encouraging interest in the Sonic games specifically. It's been a crazy ride, but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. Thank you all for the memories, kind words, TAS accusations, all of it! It's because of the audience that I've been driven to keep going this far, and that speedrunning continues to thrive.
