Sonic 3: D. A. Garden Edition: Part 10: Lava Reef Zone (Hyper Sonic & Tails)
204Sometimes I have a bit TOO much fun using Player 2 Tails, here.
Lava Reef feels even more like a maze than it originally was in this hack, or I just need to get used to this layout more. Try taking different routes to see what to stumble through. Some of the Giant Ring spots REALLY surprised me as I was trying to hunt them down!
The Act 2 boss section of this Zone is only "slightly" different in its layout, but the fight itself is actually shorter, as Eggman is defeated after the usual 8 hits to himself as an Act 2 boss instead of this particular boss' unusual 14 hits upon himself.
This was probably done because of how repetitive fighting this otherwise-invincible boss is, especially if you were Super/Hyper the whole time, and only had to worry about getting hurt from the lava once the boss' final hit forces you to change back to normal (and even THAT is assuming you didn't have a Fire Shield beforehand).
