1Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (ソニックアドベンチャー2 バトル Sonikku Adobenchā 2 Batoru?), commonly known as SA2: Battle and SA2B, is the enhanced port of the Dreamcast video game, Sonic Adventure 2. It was released in December 2001 in Japan and 2002 in the rest of the world for the Nintendo GameCube, making it the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to be released for a Nintendo game console. This port includes a variety of exclusive new features and alongside several changes.
Outside, Knuckles and Rouge fight over the shards, but during the battle Rouge slips and falls off the tower they were fighting on. Knuckles catches her before she can hit the lava below, but despite him having just saved her from a painful death Rouge angrily tells Knuckles to get off her. She jokingly guesses that he only saved her just so he could take her hand, and calls him a creep. Knuckles is angry at her, saying that the situation is not a joke, but regardless Rouge gives him the shards, saying they stink of echidna. Knuckles says that if she thought that in the first place, they should not have fought.
The Master Emerald is restored once again, and Knuckles apologizes to it for what he did before leaving to return it to the desert shrine. Back on earth, Shadow and Eggman are in the computer room in the pyramid. Eggman detects energy readings from two separate Chaos Emeralds and realizes that the heroes are attempting to trick him into inserting a fake one. He beams himself up to the ARK, telling Shadow to stay in the computer room and finish the job if he is defeated. He promptly makes his way through the space colony and captures Amy. He then tells Sonic and Tails to meet him in the research center. The two find him, and Eggman threatens to kill Amy if they do not give him both Chaos Emeralds. Sonic hands over the fake Chaos Emerald, before Eggman suddenly springs a trap, locking Sonic inside an escape pod set to hurtle down to Earth and kill him.
