Hey everyone.

In case you didn't already know, prototypes are the shit. Especially prototypes with debugging features enabled. Thanks to hidden-palace, we're able to get to play a bunch of prototypes - most of them Sonic. This is one of my favorites.

This build of Sonic Adventure DX for the GameCube is probably the earliest we'll ever get. This build is like porting the entire Dreamcast version and just adding new textures to a few areas so far. However, the best part of the prototype is it's debugger.

The video only consists of some of the main aspects of the prototype, plus one act of Twinkle Park. There's still a lot that we can do with this prototype that will span across multiple parts. What might make this appeal to a few people is that this game is being run entirely in an emulator - Dolphin. There are still problems with the game that I could get into, like random crashes of the emulator itself. However, the game itself has a tendency to crash on it's own under the most stupid conditions (loading the same map twice, loading an object that doesn't want to load up, etc) - but hey, it's a prototype.

Another thing that kills this video is that I'm still new to FRAPS, so it's not in the best condition. That, and the fact the region for this game is PAL (no possibility to change video modes either, seifghes9otu) limits the framerate to 50fps. However, the game never really did run at 60fps constantly, so we're okay for now.

You don't have to worry about my computer being underpowered or bottle necked, my specs couldn't be better (thanks cooliscool/petr!). Here's rundown:

OS: Windows 2003 SP2 (Build #3790) CPU: Intel Core2 E8400,  4.28 GHz, 6144 KB Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ (1440x900x32bpp 75Hz) Sound: SB Live! 24-bit Memory: Used: 1492/4095MB

I'm actually using Windows XP SP2 x64, but any Dolphin fan would know that x64 is the way to go.

That's all I can say about this video, but hopefully this will be in the long run of other parts. Maybe if I feel like it, I'll start doing the Review version of Sonic Adventure DX, which has it's own goodies worth mentioning.

Enjoy the video!

ps: donate all your cash/prototypes to drx - thx

NINJA EDIT: FUCK I KNOW, TERRIBLE CODEC TO USE. I FORGOT THAT I COULD'VE USED H.264. DON'T WORRY, NEXT VIDEO WILL BE USING IT FROM NOW ON.
