Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (DS) walkthrough Part 2 - Chao Cup [Beginner Mode]
Alright, let's get down to some actual racing!
Character: AiAi
Monkey Ball seems like a fun game from the videos I've seen of them. So I chose AiAi. I was gonna choose Amy, but maybe I'll choose her for another time.
Oh, and for the record, the tracks are exactly the same in all the versions, which is good, since that means all Sega did to the DS version was change the graphics and music. Let's get started on descriptions for the tracks, shall we?
Track 1: Whale Lagoon
This track, if you notice, has a MIDI replaced song from Sonic Heroes. If I'm not mistaken, the song is a MIDI replacement of Seaside Hill. Pretty cool if you ask me. There's lots of turns on this track, giving you plenty of times where you can drift and boost your speed. But there's also several places where you can fall off, so be careful.
Track 2: Icicle Valley
This track comes from "Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg". I've never actually played this game, but from what I've heard, it's a pretty fun game involving a guy in a chicken costume rolling around a giant egg. Anyways, this track is alright. Some long turns and losts of boosts. Enjoy the speed!
Track 3: Roulette Road
This track is based off of Casino Park from Sonic Heroes. Personally, I would've preferred Bingo Highway since I like the music on that level more, but this is fine. Pretty fun track. There is also one bit where you are constantly going around in a circle on the track, and the only way to escape it is if you go through a little road leading through a hole in the floor. If you miss this, you'll be in last place in a matter of seconds! So be alert! Cool music by the way.
Track 4: Sunshine Tour
Here's the last track of the Chao Cup. This track comes from a game known as "Samba De Amigo", soome other Sega game involving a monkey. This track is a fairly long one with LOTS of turning points. There's also quite a few places to get items if you're behind. But if you're in front, you better hope the item you get is a shield, because there will be a lot of missiles firing at you.
