Sonic Before the Sequel (abreviado como Sonic BTS ) é um fan game criado por LakeFeperd que serve como um interquel entre Sonic the Hedgehog 1 e Sonic the Hedgehog 2 . O jogador passa por inúmeras zonas e alterna entre Sonic , que quer impedir o Dr. Eggman de lançar o Death Egg , e Tails , que tenta acompanhar Sonic e eventualmente se junta a ele. Durante o SAGE 2012, foi lançada uma atualização que incluía melhorias gráficas, uma trilha sonora original e uma luta de chefe bônus se você alcançasse o final bom.

The player goes through numerous zones and switches between Sonic, who wants to stop Dr. Eggman from releasing the Death Egg, and Tails, who tries to keep up with Sonic and eventually joins him. During SAGE 2012, an update was released that included graphical improvements, an original soundtrack, and a bonus boss fight if you reached the good ending.

This series of fan games by LakeFeperd continued with a sequel, Sonic After the Sequel, and an interquel, Sonic Before the Sequel Aftermath (which formed a different fan game, Sonic Chrono Adventure).
