Sonic Generations (PC) - 100% ~ Part 14: Shadow The Hedgehog Rival Battle (Normal Mode ~ S Rank)
2This time the Dreamcast era's Rival Battle is Shadow the Hedgehog who debuted in Sonic Adventure 2 and the Rival Battle takes place on the Space Colony ARK. The battle is a lot different than how it was in the original. Instead of having to beat the crap out of Shadow while outrunning falling Platforms in the original, in Generations, you have to collect 2 Power Orbs (3 on hard mode) to fill up a Power meter, the catch is however is that Shadow can fill it up too, so it's race to see who gets the Orbs to power up first. If Shadow gets enough Orbs to power up, he will temporally shoot out a constant amount of Chaos Spears to attack Sonic. If Sonic gets enough Orbs to power up, his boost will temporally upgrade and will be able to break Meteors into Meteorites that will slow Shadow down long enough so Sonic can boost into him to knock him out. I'll be honest, this boss is kind of Underwhelming. For someone who is "The Ultimate Lifeform", Shadow doesn't do anything to stop you when he's not powered up. He just boosts after the Orbs and that's it. Though it doesn't help him much, since Shadow is pretty slow, even when he's boosting. Though, the level design and powering up Sonic to beat up Shadow makes this boss still fun for me imo. I find it funny how Sega referenced Shadow's game when after you beat Shadow, he gives you the forth emerald, refencing when Shadow says: "Where's that Damn FORTH Chaos Emerald" in the same game.
