Sonic R: A Unique But Undercooked Racer
23So this is the very first time since I've decided to go off-script covering a game and...It was a lot of fun. I feel like I'm new at videomaking again, and having to re-learn how to articulate points and string words together without the reliance of scripts is going to be a worthwhile challenge. Anyway, I wanted to talk about Sonic R, a game that's honestly pretty bad, especially in comparison to it's rivals during the 90s. But it's also a game that had a pretty unique take on the racing genre that unfortunately, wasn't developed any further. For all of it's annoying handling and small pool of content, it has some nice low poly graphics, the cast of characters are unique in how they feel and play, and the music is awesome. It's one entry that I can now say that I've played in my goal to explore the Sonic universe, and there are others I eventually wanna look at, which includes an Edgehog, and a 06 at the end.
Notes:
There is no script at all for this video. While there are edits, they were done cut out mistakes, minced words or just dead space during the recordings.
I forgot to mention that the game also has powerups too, and boosters that spend your rings if you use them.
