76Running under Windows 7 RC with help from my 004801d9 hack.
If you have a compatible NVIDIA card, use nHancer to enable 4x4 Supersampling. Makes it look awesome and gets rid of the artifacts. Just remember to turn it off before running any recent games, or they will run SLOW.
4x4 SSAA works good for Sonic R since it only runs at 640x480x16bit, 30fps, and has extremely simple shading. Modern games run at much higher resolutions and framerates, and use very complex shader programs.
In other words, on 4X SSAA, Sonic R is running at 2560x1920x16, 30fps. A modern game running at 1680x1050 would be actually running at an internal resolution of 6720x4200x32, or 11.5 times the pixel bandwidth, just for 30fps. And with complex shaders, that means that many more times the shader program must be run!
