HQ: • Zip 250 Drive with Cover Open \nI took the cover off my Zip 250 ATAPI drive and operate it with a USB to ATA cable (the blue thing with the blinking yellow light). You can see the drive in operation and what happens when the "click of death" occurs. Because the top cover is used to latch the disk in place and release the head restraint, I had to remove the springs for the disk loading mechanism and the head restraint for it to work.
