Some things to note about the sega saturn version of this game and the other games on the disc is that all of them have different sound effects for some things and for the sound effects that weren't changed they sound a little different because of how sega recorded them.

For all games on the disc there is slowdown that happens in some spots that don't happen on the genesis versions and Sonic 2 is the main culprit when getting hit with it more than the other games.

Sonic 1 in the collection is the japanese version and that's why you see more animations than in the american version since the japanese version is a later revision. and as a bonus sega made it so he can spin dash on the saturn which helps in certain spots where you need to get some speed going.

For Sonic 3 on the title screen Sonic will appear much faster and smoother than he does on the genesis and this also makes it harder to do the code that needs to be done before the title screen fully appears.
